I stepped into the world of procedural modelling in Houdini in the form of a park generator tool. This tool allows game artists and level designers to quickly iterate working parks and other enclosed spaces with ease inside the game engine. It relies on manipulating curve points and configurable parameters that allow desired variations in the outcome including being able to add custom meshes and materials.

The tool has several editable parameters to control the path, fence, and objects to scatter. I learned so much about tool workflows while working with both Houdini and Houdini Engine in Unreal, which opens up tremendous amount of possibilities to build robust tools for in-engine application. Finally, I created some scene setups and tool application using Quixel and Unreal Marketplace assets.
